An evil one is ensnared by the sin of lips, but the righteous one escapes trouble.
Proverbs 12:13 TLV
If you're always kind and honest, you don't have to worry too much about your words coming back to haunt you.
Unfortunately, all the normal rules of wisdom are turned on their head in a society that is completely backwards. The righteous must constantly guard his tongue and worry that some innocuous statement from decades ago will be used to condemn him.
The wicked covets the loot of evil men, but the root of the righteous flourishes.
Proverbs 12:12 TLV
The wicked want easy gains and will commit fraud to get them. However, the righteous plant, cultivate, and prune, planning to reap lasting rewards in the future through hard work. This is the difference between demanding a fish and asking to be taught how to fish.
We are saved by grace. This gives us the invitation to the wedding supper. But if you show up to that wedding in the wrong clothes, out you go!
