Breaking up the depths and the formation of dew are opposite extremes in two ways: One is extremely violent and comes from beneath the earth. The other is so gentle that it gradually appears as if from nowhere, although it actually comes from the air. One brings death, while the other brings life. See 1 Samuel 2:6 and the words of Hannah: YHWH kills and brings to life. He brings down to Sheol and raises up.

Solomon wrote "To everything there is a season a time for every purpose under heaven". This applies in war and peace, in business and marketing, and also in evangelism. See Joshua 6:8-10. God's plan unfolds in his own time. He could have brought Jericho down in an instant, but he had a greater plan that Joshua and the Israelites didn't know.

Is the story of #noah and the Flood literally true? I think so, but it's more important to ask why the story is told. God's pattern is to carry His people thru divine judgment of the world and then to re-establish them.
Messiah is the atonement which carried Noah through the flood by which the earth was cleansed of violence and tyranny. Ultimately, he is the atonement which carries us through Death itself.

Almost every culture has a Flood myth and many of them are very similar to the Genesis account. Is the story in our genes or in our history? Is the ubiquity of these myths evidence the flood was global or could it have been regional and everyone heard about it?
I think it's impossible to say beyond all reasonable doubt, but this is consistent with how God's greatest miracles have always worked. He leaves just enough room for determined doubters to invent their own explanations. People who are desperate to disbelieve will find a way.
