OOMs ?

The Alice in the Symphony dress, who went unshod in the grey internals of a sea-faring whale, behind a pillar of mirror chips, drew the young boy from the twisting well, and together again they slept, and set up their lair.

#writtenoom 2024-12-04

A swaying tall millipede leaves human footprints ahead of you in the layers of volcanic ash. The tube we all are in is high, so high that it is lit without opening to the sun.
Creeping down the concave wall is dark as a soaked oxfrog, far away as a spider - when you finally meet, its name is Antonio.

#writtenoom 2024-12-05

You are there to see a sticky yellow address wind down a secular zigzag into the road below. You step on windowsills to climb down after it; a warm, sorted hum arches overhead, the smell of new carpet keeps up with grass and tile.
On the floor, you see the yellow shot through the fluted iron of a lamppost, veiled in a sheet of sawdust and unstained palm shell. It seems happy, so you leave it.

#writtenoom 2024-12-09

Treasures of frozen insects he wades through, to reach the splintered spear in the a higher of the mounds, buried two thirds of its giant length shaft in the wreathen jaws and levered legs. Tall, when he draws it out, it is near thrice his height, and reaches from steam to steam of that harried place.
A battered path lies twisted and smudged against the cracked feet of four step pyramids. Out of one a mask of withered fly flesh observes.

Thank You for Your Support – Let’s Shape TTN’s Future Together

First, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has already committed their support on the recent post (https://social.ttn.place/post/....51122_help-keep-ttn- Your contributions and encouragement have been invaluable, and it’s because of you that there’s now a promising path forward to keep TTN running in its current form.

However, to fully secure TTN’s future, I will need your continued involvement over the next six months to stabilize and grow the platform.

At this stage, we just need two more new Gold memberships to reach a sustainable level and I’ve also reached out to existing Gold members to confirm if they will continue their support and hope to hear back from them within the coming week. With these final 4 memberships confirmed, we will be over the hump.

A New Board Structure to Empower the Community

To make participation more engaging and meaningful, I’ve been considering a new structure for the TTN Board. This approach would give more influence to the community:

1. All paying members will automatically become part of the Board, allowing them to listen, provide feedback, and share their input on key matters.

2. Gold members and white-label site subscribers will gain voting rights on important decisions, such as new features, resource allocation, and policy changes.

This structure ensures that those who are truly committed to TTN will have a voice in shaping its future and the way it operates.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this proposal. Please share your feedback by voting or leaving a comment below. Together, we can ensure TTN continues to thrive as a platform for our community!

#ttnboard #votingrights

Having more members in the Board is good for everyone
The platform might become less neutral if members have their input
I am not neutral on the idea
I have another idea (please comment below)

Great news, I have just heard back and one of the two outstanding Gold members has agreed to support us next year as well. (I don't want to name names in an open forum as I don't want anyone targetted by new members joining who are here to simply ask for money.)

So, we are hearly there. ?

Honestly I don’t think this will work at all. Taking community feedback is one thing, making decisions regarding platform policy a democracy is another matter. Obviously this platform wouldn’t work without you listening to the users, but at the same time you should maintain decision making authority. Not everyone that pays a monthly subscription will know what will help the platform or kill it altogether.

I have heard back from a couple of people and it looks like a Board steering the detailed running of TTN might impact the neutrality of the platform as it could become heavily swayed in a specific direction.

My suggestion therefore is to still have the Pro members be part of a private Group where matters are raised and when needed, a vote is taken. But the final decision won't necessarily be what the majority has voted for, especially when it is a doctrinal matter that impacts the in/exclusion of a wider Torah audience.

How does that sound for a compromise to get more people involved in the direction TTN takes while still keeping the platform neutral?

Question

Suffering Servant - Isaiah 53

GidgetsMom and I have had an interesting discussion around who the "suffering servant" is in Isaiah 53.

Matthew quotes a verse from Isa 53, but currently it looks to be out of context to me.

Let me explain, when I look from my church doctrine then this chapter can only speak of Yeshua. BUT if I am honest with myself and do not overlook the verses that are out of place in my view then I have to admit that I don't know whom is being spoken of as it doesn't reflect 100% in my view on Yeshua's life.

And yes, there are passages in the Bible which I don't fully understand nor have received non-contradictory explanations for it, so I don't have a problem to assign this chapter to that part of my "understanding".

The Jews say that this chapter is speaking of Isreal as a nation as they reject the notion of Yeshua as a Messiah.

Isaiah 53:2 already has me confused as it would mean that Yeshua would have to develop into a mature adult over time. If I remove the added capitalizations in the verse that was added during translation then the verse says:

"For he grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground; he has no stately form or majestic splendor that we would look at him, nor appearance that we would be attracted to Him."

Verse 9 then says "But He was with a rich man in His death". Yeshua was buried in a brand new tomb. Yes a rich man owned it, but He wasn't buried with someone else in the tomb.

Verse 12 then says "I will divide and give Him a portion with the great". This again doesn't fit in with the picture of Yeshua being King of kings and ruling over all. In this passage the servant only receives a portion.

What is your understanding of these verses when it is read without a doctrinal view and read on face value?

I came accross this cross reference from Isaiah 53 in Acts, thought you might be interested:

Acts 8:30-35 [30] Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” [31] And he said, “Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. [32] Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this: “He was led as a sheep to slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He does not open His mouth. [33] In humiliation His judgment was taken away; Who will relate His generation? For His life is removed from the earth.” [34] The eunuch answered Philip and said, “Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else?” [35] Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him.

Thought for Today: Friday December 13

Courage does not exist in being blind to dangers, but seeing and conquering them.

I am generally a procrastinator when it comes to difficult conversations. I like to keep the calm rather than dealing with an issue.

But I am realizing that, that isn't showing courage. I have to push through my fears.
