How is Jerusalem Babylon and simultaneously "the beloved city"?

“They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭20‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Rosh Chodesh Sighted!
The Rosh Chodesh, which is the observed-crescent New Moon, was sighted from Israel on the evening of 9/4/2024, marking the beginning of the 7th scriptural month. The sighting was made from Jerusalem at 7:19pm by Devorah Gordon, Chaya, and at least one other person.
This means that the first commanded festival of the 7th month, Yom Teruah, the “Day of Blowing” (the shophar), begins this evening at sunset. Reference to this festival is found in Vayyiqra (Leviticus) 23. This festival also begins the Yamim Nora’im, the ten “Days of Awe,” which are a time of reflection, repentance, and a turning away from sin - Teshuvah.
Have a lovely and meaningful festival, Chaverim, and L’shana Tovah Tiketeivu! – May you be inscribed for an Excellent new year!

I think there is more Scripture in support of Jerusalem being taught by the nations how to sin than the other way around. For example:

“Then it shall be, after I have plucked them out, that I will return and have compassion on them and bring them back, everyone to his heritage and everyone to his land. And it shall be, if they will learn carefully the ways of My people, to swear by My name, ‘As the Lord (Yahuwah) lives,’ as they taught My people to swear by Baal, then they shall be established in the midst of My people. But if they do not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation,” says the Lord.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭12‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Another problem I have with the Babylon is Jerusalem theory is the jubilant nature of heaven at its destruction. Yeshua wept over Jerusalem during a time when it was in fact deserving of punishment, but I'm susposed to believe that heaven is throwing a party?

And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure. Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’
Luke 13:8-9

Just because God hasn't cut you down yet, doesn't mean he won't do it in the future. Consider your continued life to be evidence of God's enduring grace, another opportunity to repent from sin and cultivate the fruit of a righteous life.

How often does the Word of YHWH get this much in our faces, overwhelming and deafening … and yet even still we manage to miss the moment.

Awake! Arise! Apologize! About-face! Advance!

if/then….If/Then….IF/THEN.

It’s conditional!

If My People…

Are you part of His People?

Who are called by My Name…

Are you called by His Name?

Will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways…

Are you humbling yourself before Him?

Are you praying?

Are you seeking His Face?

Are you turning from your wicked ways?

Then will I hear from Heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.

if/then….If/Then….IF/THEN.

It’s conditional!

Choose to be part of His people. Choose to be called by His Name. Choose to seek His Face. Choose to turn from your wicked ways.

Then and only then will He do what He promised.

And this requires that we learn.

Who are His people? What does it mean to be part of His people? How does one become part of His people?

What is His Name? What does it mean to be called by His Name? How does one become called by His Name?

What does our Heavenly Father see as humility? How do we adopt that habit?

What is genuine prayer? How do we do it in sincerity?

What does it truly mean to seek His Face? How do we do that in our daily lives?

What are His Ways? How do we turn from our wicked ways to his righteous Way?

Much learning we have to do to get this blessing.

And what better time than in these Days of Awe.

Let’s get started.

Christians have a reputation of being easy prey, yes, I said it. And sadly the predators manipulate a familiar bait to lure them into their trap of deception. Matthew 24:23, “At that time, if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There He is!’ do not believe it.” The way out of the trap is to question the way you practice your faith, compare that to what the Bible really instructs us to do and choose the Creator’s way over your own way.
