While we would agree that the foregoing definitions are accurate, Scripture paints a much more specific and detailed picture of these words and their meanings. Taken in their contexts, a very clear image emerges of what, or whom, Emeth and Aletheia are meant to depict within its pages.

Is morality dependent on circumstances, or is there an objective standard? What does God think about situational ethics? Is there an unchanging standard of behavior for God's people, or does the standard change with time and cultural norms? We may not want to think about this topic, but it's necessary because our answers to these questions - both in our words and actions - reveal our hearts.

For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:13

Paul wrote that Jew and Greek, slave and free, male and female are all one in Messiah. We are all equally "saved". It has always been that way. Abraham, Caleb, and Rahab were all equally God's chosen people by their faith in his salvation despite having not been born as Israelites. This didn't change at the cross or pentecost.

It also doesn't mean there are no more distinctions between Jew and Greek, slave and free, male and female. Equality in one respect does not mean--or even imply--equality in any other respect, as the rest of this chapter and Paul's other writings makes abundantly clear.

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:12

The foot isn't unimportant just because it is lower or earthier than the head. All parts are vital for a properly functioning body. It's ok for people to be different, to have different methods, roles, missions, and traditions so long as they are in alignment with God's instructions. We don't have to do all the same things in the same ways.
