On the current date/timeline discussion. Here is part of why I am not sold on any fixed dates. 5 sources, several different dates. Even taking 2-3 witnesses from these gives yet another set of dates. And this is just from Adam to the birth of Abram

Thank you, Joshua. The difference is between the traditional english reckoning and the septuagint.

I tend to lean toward the LXX as being the one in err, as greek is a very garbled up mess. Translating from hebrew to greek and then to english messes up pronouns, articles, numbers and so many other things!

Coins have no biases. Rather than argue a point endlessly, sometimes it's better to just flip a coin or roll a die. As long as the object used is honest, then the lot is a purely impartial judge. Who can argue with chance?

Biblically, the only time a woman inherited directly (other than a dowry) was when she had no brothers. A man's property would never be inherited by his sister or aunt. If a daughter inherited land from her father, then she would be unable to marry a man from outside her father's tribe. However, if she had already married an outsider, then her father's property would revert to one of his brothers, either directly or via Levirate marriage.
