Thought for Today: Shabbat April 26
The answers to our individual fears are found in a personal faith in the Living, Glorified Moshiach. And the answers to collective fears are a corporate faith in the Living Glorified Moshiach. The answers to national and international tension are for the world to turn from their sins and know Him Who is alive for eternity.
A new song you've never heard before,
with the segarth beat😁
¡Canta a Yah, oh tierra y mar!
by Dr Garth Grenache
and his Lighter Orchestra
2025:4:26
¡Canta a Yah, oh tierra y mar,
gloria a Él por liberar!
Honor, fuerza, amparo fiel—
¡Arde Yah sin menguar Él!
[Sing to Yah, O land and sea,
glory to Him for setting free!
Honor, strength, faithful refuge—
Yah burns undiminishing!]
READINGS FOR OMER COUNT – DAY 07
Behold, I am about to fulfill the affirmative precept of the counting of the Omer, as it is written in the Torah:
“And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Shabbath, from the day that ye brought the Omer of the wave-offering, seven complete weeks they shall be; until the morrow of the seventh Shabbath shall ye number fifty days.”
Blessed art Thou YHWH, our Elohym, King of the universe, who hast set us apart by Thy commandments and hast given us command concerning the counting of the Omer.
This is the seventh day, making one week and zero days of the Omer.
May the All Merciful restore the service of the Temple to its place. May it be Thy will, YHWH our Elohym and Elohym of our fathers, that the Temple be speedily rebuilt in our days, and grant our portion in Thy Torah. And there we will serve Thee with awe, as in the days of old and as in ancient years.
May Elohym be favorable unto us and bless us. That Thy way may be known upon the earth, Thy salvation among all nations. Let the peoples give thanks unto Thee, Elohym; let all the peoples give thanks unto Thee. Let the nations rejoice and exult: for Thou wilt judge the peoples with equity and lead the nations upon the earth. Let the peoples give thanks unto Thee, Elohym; let all the peoples give thanks unto Thee. The earth hath yielded her increase: Elohym, even our Elohym, shall bless us. Elohym shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.
READINGS: TEHILLAH 18
I love You, O YHWH, My strength.
YHWH is my rock and my stronghold and my deliverer; My Ěl is my rock, I take refuge in Him; My shield and the horn of my deliverance, my high tower. I call upon YHWH, the One to be praised, And I am saved from my enemies.
The cords of death surrounded me, And the floods of Beliya‛al made me afraid. The cords of She’ol were all around me; The snares of death were before me. In my distress I called upon YHWH, And to my Elohim I cried; He heard my voice from His Hěḵal, And my cry went before Him, into His ears. And the earth shook and trembled; Even the foundations of the mountains were troubled And they shook, because He was angry. Smoke went up from His nostrils, And consuming fire from His mouth; Coals were kindled by it. And He bowed the heavens and came down, And thick darkness was under His feet. And He rode upon a keruḇ, and flew; He flew upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness His covering; Around Him His booth, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
From the brightness before Him, His thick clouds passed, hail and coals of fire. And YHWH thundered in the heavens, And the Most High sent forth His voice, Hail and coals of fire. And He sent out His arrows and scattered them, And much lightning, and confused them. And the channels of waters were seen, And the foundations of the world were uncovered At Your rebuke, O YHWH, At the blast of the breath of Your nostrils. He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, And from those hating me, For they were stronger than I. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But YHWH was my support. And He brought me out into a large place; He delivered me for He delighted in me.
YHWH rewarded me according to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my hands He repaid me. For I have guarded the ways of YHWH, And have not acted wrongly against my Elohim. For all His judgments are before me, And I did not turn from His laws. And I am perfect before Him, And I guard myself from my crookedness. And YHWH repays me according to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands before His eyes.
With the merciful You show Yourself merciful; With the perfect one You show Yourself perfect; With the clean You show Yourself clean; And with the crooked You show Yourself twisted. For You save the afflicted people, But bring down those whose eyes are haughty. For You Yourself light my lamp; YHWH my Elohim makes my darkness light. For with You I run against a band, And with my Elohim I leap over a wall.
The Ěl – His way is perfect; The Word of YHWH is proven; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. For who is Eloah, besides YHWH? And who is a rock, except our Elohim?
It is Ěl who girds me with strength, And makes my way perfect, Making my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places, Teaching my hands for battle, So that my arms shall bend a bow of bronze. And You give me the shield of Your deliverance; And Your right hand supports me, And Your lowliness makes me great. You enlarge my step under me; And my feet shall not slip.
I pursue my enemies and overtake them; And do not turn back till they are destroyed. I crush them, and they are unable to rise; They fall under my feet. And You gird me with strength for battle; Cause my adversaries to bow under me. And You have made my enemies turn their backs, As for those hating me, I cut them off. They cry – but no one is there to save, To YHWH – but He answers them not. And I beat them as dust before the wind; I empty them out like dirt in the streets.
You deliver me from the strivings of the people, You set me at the head of the nations; A people I have not known serve me. As soon as they hear of me they obey me; The foreigners submit to me. The foreigners fade away, And come frightened from their strongholds.
YHWH lives! And blessed is my Rock! And exalted is the Elohim of my deliverance, The Ěl who avenges me, And He humbles the peoples under me; My deliverer from my enemies. You lift me up above those who rise against me; You deliver me from a man of violence. Therefore I give thanks to You, O YHWH, among nations, And I sing praise to Your Name, Making great the deliverance of His king, And showing mercy to His anointed, To Dawiḏ and his seed, forever.
READINGS: MISHLE (PROVERBS) 6:1-35
My son, if you: Have become guarantor for your friend, Have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger, Have been snared by the words of your own mouth, Have been caught by the words of your mouth – Do this at once, my son, and deliver yourself, For you have come into the hand of your friend: Go, humble yourself, and urge your friend. Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids.Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hunter’s hand, And like a bird from the hand of the trapper.
Go to the ant, you lazy one! See her ways and be wise, Which, having no commander, overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, Gathers her food in the harvest.
How long would you lie down, O lazy one? When do you arise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to lie down; And your poverty shall come like a prowler, And your need as an armed man.
A man of Beliya‛al, a wicked man, Walks with a perverse mouth, Winks with his eyes, shuffles his feet, Points with his fingers; Perverseness is in his heart, Plotting evil at all times, He sends out strife. Therefore his calamity comes suddenly; Instantly he is broken, And there is no healing.
These six matters YHWH hates, And seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, And hands shedding innocent blood, A heart devising wicked schemes, Feet quick to run to evil, A false witness breathing out lies, And one who causes strife among brothers.
My son, watch over your father’s command, And do not forsake the Torah of your mother. Bind them on your heart always; Tie them around your neck. When you are walking about, it leads you; When you lie down, it guards you. And when you have woken up, It talks to you.
For the command is a lamp, And the Torah a light, And reproofs of discipline a way of life, To guard you against an evil woman, From the flattering tongue of a strange woman. Do not desire her prettiness in your heart, Neither let her captivate you with her eyelids. For because of a whore One is brought to a crust of bread. And an adulteress hunts a precious life. Would a man take fire to his bosom, And his garments not be burned? Would a man walk on hot coals, And his feet not be scorched? So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife; None who touches her goes unpunished.
They do not despise a thief If he steals to satisfy his appetite when he is starving. Yet if he is caught he repays sevenfold; He gives all the wealth of his house.
He who commits adultery with a woman lacks heart; He who does it destroys his own life. He finds smiting and shame, And his reproach is not wiped away. For jealousy enrages a man, And he does not spare in the day of vengeance. He does not regard any ransom, Nor accept your bribe, however great!

Rabban Gam’liel said, provide thyself a teacher; be quit of doubt; and accustom not thyself to give tithes by a conjectural estimate.
Shim’on his son said, all my days I have grown up among the wise and I have found nought of better service than silence; not learning but doing is the chief thing; and whoso is profuse of words causes sin.
Rabban Shim’on ben Gam’liel said, by three things is the world preserved: by truth, by judgment, and by peace; as it is said, judge ye the truth, and the judgment of peace in your gates.
