Long before your Christian Minister told you the commandments are cast aside by Messiah and all you need do now is “believe” in “Christ” and love “God”, the Prophet, Moses taught us that if we do not keep the commandments we are forgetting YHWH. The fact that churchianity has decided to cast away the commandments of the Creator in favor of cheap grace instead and to replace YHWH Elohim with a generic divinity called “LORD God” instead, is testimony enough that Moses’ word proved true. Christianity has turned from keeping the commands of YHWH and has so forgotten the NAME of YHWH.
There’s no statute of limitations on this passage. It applies for all people for all time. Confess your iniquity and the iniquities of your fathers. Acknowledge that you and your fathers have walked contrary to YHWH. Humble your hearts before Him, and He in turn will remember the covenant He swore with your Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And He will remember your place in it. Turn to Him and He will turn toward you.
