In 2017, the kids and I were in Oregon for the summer and watched the eclipse from my mom's front yard. We did this craft to make the viewing glasses safer for little kids. https://www.hopecottageministr....ies.com/2017/08/worr

Then the whole congregation of the people of Israel assembled at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The land lay subdued before them.
Joshua 18:1

Shiloh would be the center of Israelite religious and political life for the next 300+ years. It's significant that they didn't choose a permanent home for the Tabernacle until the fighting was essentially over.

This reminds me of Solomon's advice in Proverbs 24:27, "Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house."

#exodus 40 says Moses assembled the Tabernacle by himself, but tradition says he had divine help. The walls and tent were too heavy so he asked God what to do. God said, "Do or do not. There is no try."

Kidding a little. God said "You start and I'll give a push." Like a child helping his father frame a house. Like the parting of the Jordan. We step out in #faith and God does the heavy lifting.

In all likelihood, Moses had lots of human help, but the text is worded this way for a reason.

In this week's Torah reading (Pekudei, Exodus 38:21-40:38), Moses recorded twenty times that the Israelites did exactly as Yahweh commanded. Do you think it might be important?

Moses didn't micromanage the fabrication of the Tabernacle. The men appointed for the purpose were divinely inspired experts, so he wisely left it in their hands, though he probably gave some guidance based on his experience on Mt Sinai. Ultimately, the final state of the Mishkan (Tabernacle) was Moses' responsibility alone. He was accountable and no one else. A great leader communicates clearly, delegates effectively, evaluates progress, corrects course when necessary, and doesn't redirect blame to others.

None-the-less, the precise construction of the articles of the Tabernacle was a miracle. The people did it exactly right. How often does anyone get anything exactly right in your experience?
