After Miriam died, Israel complained and were defeated. After Aaron died, Israel mourned and were victorious.

When Moses died, the manna stopped. When Miriam died, the water stopped.

Scripture doesn't explain what these things mean, but I'm certain they mean something 😉 . Mysteries and correlations for us to contemplate.

If the man who is unclean does not cleanse himself, that person shall be cut off from the community, since he has defiled the sanctuary of YHWH. Because the water for impurity has not been sprinkled on him, he is unclean.
#numbers 19:20

It is not a sin to be unclean, but it is a sin to neglect becoming clean if possible. Without a functioning Temple and priesthood, ritual uncleanness isn't as big of a deal--there's no danger of contaminating that sacred space--and some kinds of uncleanness can't be removed at all. So we rely solely on the grace of God to accomplish what we can't do for ourselves.

Yesterday’s Jeremiah passage looks at a nation as the clay that our Creator is shaping. Isaiah brings that to a more personal and individual level. Isaiah 64:8, “But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand.”

If we read the writings of the disciples before receiving the knowledge of the Torah and the prophets, we will encounter claims about our salvation and misinterpret them the way the church did.

YHWH has always been trying to save us since the Fall - to save us from one thing or another but when Scripture speaks of saving and salvation it is usually addressing Israel and our restoration thereto.

After half the nation ran off to idolatry YHWH cut them off with a promise to save them and save Israel as a whole.

Yeshua made thst salvation possible. And He will save Israel as He promised, but whether or not we as individuals have anything to do with that salvation is up to us. If we do what Israel does we will be accepted as Israel.
