Thought for Today: Wednesday September 28:
The promised coming of Moshiach has been a great hope of believers throughout centuries. The ancient Nicene Creed affirms: He shall come again with Glory! Charles Wesley wrote 7000 hymns; 5000 mentioning the coming of Moshiach. As the archbishop of Canterbury crowned the Queen Elizabeth II, he stated: I give thee, o sovereign lady, this this crown to wear until He Who reserves the right to wear it shall return. …someday the heavens will shout: The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Adonai and of Moshiach and He shall Reign for ever and ever! – Revelation 11:15. Moshiach alone is the answer to the burdens of our hearts and the hopelessness of our world.

The only way that any nation can become truly great is to honor God in every sphere of life, to fear him, and to keep his commandments.
On a related note, I can't help but be puzzled by all the praise heaped on the late Queen Elizabeth II. I get "don't speak ill of the dead" and all that, but this was a head of state. It seems to me that the rules are a little different. QE2 was in a much better position than any elected President or Premier to uphold a basic level of public morality within her realms, but she refused. She presided over one of the most horrific moral declines in history. She wore the crown, but did almost nothing to lead her people. Unfortunately, I don't expect Charles to do any better.
