The world had 120 years of warning before the Flood. God is slow to judgment, ready to forgive. If they had wanted to believe in him, they could have and would have been saved. He wants everyone to repent and be rescued from destruction, but eventually the door has to be closed and people need to be left to the destruction they deserve.

Isaiah 66;24, “As they go forth, they will see the corpses of the men who have rebelled against Me; for their worm will never die, their fire will never be quenched, and they will be a horror to all mankind.” The imagery in this verse is intended to be horrible, it describes what happens to the people who rebel against the Creator and no description is able to make that as terrible as it will actually be.
