The real Pandemic in America is not some virus, it is poverty and in particular homelessness. Many American families are just 1-2 paychecks away from homelessness. It really doesn't take much to turn your world upside down. How close are you to being homeless?
Average wage per hour in the US is $10.07 per hour, with prediction of a raise anytime soon.
Average hours work per week in the U.S. is 34.4 with all of the economical impacts this could very well go down, rather than up.
Meaning the average American only makes $346 a week and that is before taxes and other withholdings.
In 2020, the average national cost for health insurance is $456 for an individual and $1,152 for a family per month
Average cost of housing per month $1,784 per month.
Here's what the USDA recommends per week for a family of four, defined by the USDA as a male and female 19 – 50 years old and two children 2 – 11 years old: Thrifty: $131 – $150. Low-Cost: $167 – $197. Moderate-Cost: $206 – $246.
Average cost of utilities per month are $328
Average cost of auto insurance per month is $196
This doesn't count paying for a car or phone or even paying for things like deodorant or toilet paper and soap.
Now to explain I have taken these figures for the month, with the exception of food cost which are already in a weekly total, and divided by 4.33 to get a weekly total. Now the food cost I have taken the low cost totals added them together and divided by 2 to get an average cost.
So per week totals look something like this:
\
Housing $412.00 a week
Utilities $75.75 a week
Auto Insurance $42.26 a week
Food for Family of 4 $182.00 a week
Health insurance $266.05 a week
TOTAL $978.06 a week
Average wage for an American is $346 and after the average taxes of 23% is $304.53 a week. Even for a family with 2 working adults you can see that there is only about $600 a week to use for just the basics.
Now here are a few more problems:
Food has gone up 12% since 2019 and is predicted to go up another 7-15%
Housing has gone up 13% since 2019 and is predicted to go up another 16%
We all are feeling the cost of gas and it continues to rise for about 20 days straight now.
This is also part of the problem within this pandemic: homeless shelters are full, hotels are full, families are sleeping in their cars. In some cities they get citation(s) for doing just this. It's bad folks, many places have taken actions to almost criminalize being homeless. They can't legally do so but they have taken other actions like making public camping outlawed or removing park benches from areas. Some cities have actually taken to putting the homeless on buses and paying for them to go to other cities. The city where I live is known for being a homeless destination city. There was even a news article talking about this fact a few years ago. Let’s not forget the physiological effect being homeless can have on people, not to mention how many in society treat them like a pariah.
With the cost of inflation still rising the pandemic of homelessness is only going to get worse. Can you help? Have you been blessed to be above the curve of average? If so then please consider helping to fight this pandemic. Will you help or just pass by and continue to live your blessed life?

New Blog Post - Grades, Report Cards, and Record Keeping (and how to do it easily)

If you are having a hard time with Paul's teachings one way to clarify them is to ask yourself what can't Paul be saying. He will never and can't be ever saying anything contrary to YHWH'S laws and commandments that's the first thing to understand. Then if you still are having a hard time understanding what he is saying look at the context. Then if you still don't understand then put it on the shelf and wait YHWH will teach you and bring understanding if you need it, if not he won't. Something to think about.
Did you know that YHWH'S laws and commandments are not just for the native born as many think but they are for all who want to follow the Elohim of Israel. YHWH looks at them the same. This also is an everlasting ordinance. See Exodus 12:48-49, Levitcus 24:22, Numbers 15:15-16.

Deuteronomy 6; 6—7, And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” When believers fail to teach their children how to live a righteous life in this fallen world, there are plenty of others that will teach them how to live an unholy life and become self destructive.
Thought for Today: Sunday June 19:
You cannot stop a baby’s cry by giving him a rattle when he is hungry. He will keep on crying until his hunger is satisfied by the food his little body demands. Neither can the soul of a mature person be satisfied away from YHVH. King David described the hunger of every human being when he said: [As a deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You my Elohim] --- Psalm 42:1. SO, May your capacity for the things of YHVH increase and your understanding of His Love exponentially grow. May your faith in His Promises be steadfast and your view of yourself be healed because He Loves you. May Yeshua stir up in you a fresh hunger and passion to know Him more intimately. May He give you a gift of faith that swallows up your fears. May He plant a dream in your soul that fits you perfectly. And may He show you the sacred path you must take to lay hold of it. May you all have an enormous, blessed and restful day.
