Thought for Today: Thursday April 03
Learn to listen to YHVH – even when you are listening to other people. As they open their souls to your scrutiny, you are on holy ground. You need the help of Ruach HaKodesh to always respond appropriately. Ask that you can think, live and love through Him. When Ruach HaKodesh empowers your listening and speaking, YHVH’s streams of living water flow through you onto the other person. Be a channel of His Love, Joy and Peace today by listening to Him as you listen to others.
What does the mention of spiritual warfare bring to mind? Probably something about demonic possession and exorcism - something that we have heard happens to other people. But what if there's more to it - and less to it - than that? What if spiritual warfare is something we do by drawing closer to our God, learning His word, listening for His voice, and obeying His directions? David Jones and Barry Phillips have some thoughts about this subject that may be surprising!

...a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God...
Romans 15:16 ESV
There are at least 4 orders of priesthood described in the Bible.
1. Before Sinai, each family had its own priest for the family’s altar and religious life. God recognized that priesthood as valid when he gave instructions for them in Exo 19:22 before Levi had been set apart.
2. All Israel was commissioned by God at Sinai to be a nation of priests, and all true disciples of Yeshua are ordained into this priesthood when they repent of sin and submit to him. See Exo 19:6 and Rev 1:6.
3. God set apart the tribe of Levi to serve a priestly function for the whole nation of Israel, and the sons of Aaron to be full priests in service at his altar. See Lev 8-9 and Num 18.
4. There is a type of priest-king, of which Melchizedek is the exemplar in Genesis 14, and of which Yeshua is the highest example.
But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God...
Romans 15:15 ESV
Although Paul was happy with the progress and maturity of the Roman believers in general, the conflict between the Jewish disciples and the newer converts had the potential to become a serious problem. He wrote to them in strong terms in hopes to prevent this burgeoning division.
Unfortunately, we know from history that this letter wasn’t enough to unify the two camps in the long term. In fact, both sides ended up taking individual sentences--and even clauses--out of this letter and twisting them to mean the opposite of what Paul intended.

I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.
Romans 15:14 ESV
Paul says “able to instruct one another” for two reasons. First, the prophecies that he quoted just prior describe a priestly role of discipleship in which Israel instructs adoptees from the nations in the ways of YHWH. Second, the primary responsibility of a disciple is to become like his master, but the next is to make more disciples. As he has described elsewhere, this is one of the primary reasons we are instructed to gather together regularly as believers: to encourage and instruct each other.

Pray then like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Matthew 6:9
I don't think it's necessarily wrong to pray to Yeshua (aka Jesus), but that's not the example he gave us. Our lives ought to become like a burnt offering, holy dedicated to YHWH, and our prayers are a part of that process. The bottom line is that Yeshua came to restore our relationship to the Father and he told us to direct our prayers accordingly.
