The curses of Leviticus 26:13-39 aren't against people who are merely weak or mistaken, but against those who are hateful and openly rebellious. This passage describes six stages of rebellion against God and God's corrective measures. Why six stages? Shouldn't there be seven to make destruction complete?

The seventh stage is repentance. God will never completely destroy Israel, but he WILL completely restore them. The exile and suffering of the Jews isn't due to God's hate, but to God's LOVE. God corrects whom he loves. If you hate the Jews because God sometimes deals with them harshly, you make yourself to be God's enemy.

Are Christians obligated to keep Jewish Law? Of course, not!

God's Law is something else, though. Don't confuse Jewish Law with God's Law. God's Law is a blessing if you keep it, a curse if you don't.

It varies because some are following the schedule in Israel, while we follow the schedule for those who live in the “dispersion,” or outside of Israel.
