Psalm 139:14, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Because we are made in the image of the one who created us we truly are wonderfully made. Understanding this simple concept is the beginning of a relationship with the Creator. As we grow in our faith and understanding, we learn that He has designed us perfectly, not just our physical bodies, but our soul as well. Each of us is valuable in His eyes and the only payment He asks for is to worship Him.

The other day the shelf and rod my plants were hanging on came out of the wall, spilling dirt all over and damaging my basil plants. I was worried they might not make it as the main stalks were broken. Barely two days after, however, they have regrown and look almost as big and healthy as they had before.

Sometimes I think we are like that too. We grow best when we must, after trial and struggle. Despite the difficulty. Perhaps because of it.

Or at least that' s what I'm telling myself.
