Most people reject “Jesus” because the name they are given is an Anglo-Saxon invention, the character they are given is a Greco-Roman adaptation, and the instruction they are given is a watery American invention.
What the vast majority of people are offered is an alternative version of Who He is, a fictional replacement figure filtered through several foreign cultures, diluted down through the ages, and fashioned in our image. And what is leftover at the end is sold back to us as if it were the original. It’s a lie that’s not hard to see through. And most can with ease. That’s the real reason most folks reject “Jesus”. Not the attitudes of the religious people.

Abram and Sarai were apparently half-siblings. Why did God approve of their marriage? My currently preferred theory is that this wasn't too long after the Flood and their DNA was still in pretty good shape, unlike ours. One evidence for this is their long lifespans. The result is that they weren't likely to pass on the same kinds of genetic disorders that we might.
Some of Abram's tests made him wealthier. This is a metaphor of his developing #faith and relationship with God. Check out this #chiasm in #genesis 12-13 that overlaps a parallelism in Genesis 12-14.

How do we know what God is doing in our day? It's hard enough to pay attention to all the important things in our lives, so how do we manage that and still have time and energy to discern where God is at work? Maybe it's not so much a matter of knowing what He is doing, but rather getting to know Him.

Oh give thanks to YAH__; for he is good; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever.
Oh give thanks to (the) God_of the_gods; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever.
Oh give thanks to the Lord of lords; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
To him who alone doeth great wonders; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
To him that by understanding made the skies; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
To him that spread forth the earth above the waters; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
To him that made great lights; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
The sun to rule in_the_day; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever;
The moon and stars to rule in_the_night; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
To him that smote Mezrayim in their first-born; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever;
And brought out Yisra'el from among them; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever;
With a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
To him that divided the Red Sea apart; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever;
And made Yisra'el to pass through the midst of it; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever;
But he_shook_off Para`oh and his host in the Red Sea; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
To him that led his people through the wilderness; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
To him that smote great kings; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever;
And slew famous kings; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
Sehon king of the_'Amorree; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth forever;
And `Og king of the_Bashan; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever;
And gave their land for a heritage; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever;
Even a heritage to Yisra'el his servant; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
Who remembered us in our low estate; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever;
And hath delivered us from our adversaries; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever:
Who giveth food to all flesh; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever.
Oh give thanks to the God of the skies; For his (loyal)_ardour endureth for ever.
