Who doesn't like a nice #steak with a decent amount of #fat on it?

Well, this morning I came across that age old question again and I always forget to ask. Here goes...

Lev. 3:17 sits smack bang between the instructions on #offerings and it reads:

"It is a permanent statute for your generations wherever you may be, that you shall not eat any fat or any blood."

My assumption has been to read it in context and to see this as talking of sacrifices and the fat of the animals that are sacrificed.

BUT and I am almost to scared to ask, am I understanding this verse wrong??

People that have butchered have told me there are two different things we call fat. The fat that is on the muscle tissue, like the steaks is very different from the fat that is around the organs, which when you look up other verses when it talks about not eating fat or what to burn, it is the stuff around the organs.

The fat around the muscles is intertwined with it in a lot of places. I am not sure how you would even avoid that if you wanted to.

Gratitude always leaves us looking at YHVH and away from dread. It does to anxiety what the morning sun does to valley mist. It burns it up.
