God judged the Canaanites for their idolatry and sexual perversions before he gave the Torah to Israel and despite not being descended from Abraham. They failed to live up to God's standards and he destroyed them for it. How much more should he judge us who have his Torah, his prophets, & his Messiah? The land itself will hate you for doing the things that God has called abominable. God will rescue it from you by giving it to another people.
