Paul plainly and strongly asserts that we are not to continue in sin once we have been saved by grace. We are not beneath the Law, but we are to live in agreement with it, because the Law tells us what sin is. Not just the ten commandments, but the whole Law, because as James explains, the Law is indivisible. If you break a commandment in Leviticus 19, it is just as much a sin as breaking a commandment in Exodus 20.

⁣What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” R

Can you please help me understand this? This has been something I haven't been able to gain clarity on.  

We're told:   
“For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven." 

Based on Revelation, pretty clear there is more to be accomplished. In that same book it describes heaven and earth passing away and a new heaven and a new earth. IMHO Christ is giving a nod to this as the accomplishable he’s speaking to in regard to the scope of the Law’s duration. 

Peter describes the Law as a noose around his neck. David in the beautiful Psalm 119 prays to be its captive forever.

With that said, how do I keep the Law? It’s against US law for me to keep some of the 613. Do I follow the 613? Or the Messiah’s refactor of the 613 which yielded 2 laws?

My mentor passed away, this is a question I would have loved to discuss with him.

Matthew 5:21-24

Although there is no punishment prescribed in #torah for nursing anger or casting unjust insults against a brother, in #leviticus 19, God commands us not to do so. The judgment for such offenses comes not from man, but from God.

What are "these things" but our justification, our calling in God's Kingdom, and God's determination that we should become like Christ? If God has justified us and set us on a course to become like Christ, who can say it can't be done? God has ultimate authority to declare what is and isn’t. The Accuser is powerless before the atoning blood of Yeshua.
