If you had to summarize 2023 into one word, what would that be? And why?

Cannot in one word, but two -- "God's Gift" -- Although there were easy days, hard days, trials and tribulation, sadness and joy, in all of those, His presence was obvious. He rejoiced with me on the great days, comforted and carried me on the bad ones, but never left my side. He danced with me, He dried my tears, but all in all, He made me stronger, He encouraged me and blessed me with wisdom and knowledge. He prepares the way for me for 2024 and I will rejoice in everything ahead. He is with me.

Fast. The years keep speeding up. They say to try to make memories to slow time down, but when chronic pain fills every day, its hard to find memories to make. My youngest turned 18 this year. I know the time flew by for her, too because she was always bored. The individual days may have been long, but the year was short. Too many things left undone. However, I am grateful for every day i had. Yah threatened to permanently end my days in june with a heart attack, but it was a warning that i need to stop being a stressed out control freak. I think i have calmed down a little, but probably not enough. Something to keep working on.

I can’t really think of one word. A fast storm. As a plant, this year helped me grow tremendously and made me realize just how temporary and fast this life is, and I really have had a lot of fun, starting to train for Search and Rescue, starting to drive that big school bus of a van through town to driving Marty’s car through private roads on the mountains of North Carolina after training at the Tryon Equestrian Center (place is huge, these guys own a lot of property).

When everything around us looks dismal we need to remember Isaiah 60:1—2,”Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. For behold, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness is over the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you, and His glory will appear over you.” Everyone who is part of the Creator’s family will share in this glory.

Community and accountability is foundational to doing what is right and best - it is to all that you are responsible for following God's law and doing your best. You are responsible to all, including God, yourself, and any person you come in contact with. Community and accountability is not so much creating responsibility as taking responsibility - acknowledging the responsibilities you have.

RENEWING YOUR MIND

A prayer for renewing your mind

Healing Promise:
“I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of YHVH, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to YHVH, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may proof what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of YHVH.” (Romans 12:1-2)

Healing Prayer:
My mighty heavenly Abba, I ask You to help me renew my mind, as I present my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. I understand that this is my reasonable service of worship unto You. By Your mercies to me I will not be conformed to this world any longer. Instead I will be transformed by the renewing of my mind and then I will be able to prove what is Your good, acceptable and perfect will. Thank You for helping me to renew my mind my dear Abba. Thank You for restoring my soul and renewing my mind my Adonai and my YHVH. As I wait upon You, I experience renewal of my mind and my strength. Thank You Abba. Help me to put off, concerning my former conduct, the old nature, which grows corrupt according to deceitful lusts and help me to be renewed in the spirit of my mind, so that I will be able to put on the new nature, which was created according to Your will in true righteousness and holiness. Sanctify and cleanse me Abba, with the washing of water by Your Word, for Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Abba, I thank You for Your grace, which leads me into thanksgiving and rejoicing and keeps me from ever losing heart. You are renewing my inner person and my mind day by day. From this point forward I will focus, not on the things that are seen, but on the things which are not seen, because I realize (through Your glorious Word) that the things which are seen are temporary, but the things that are not seen are eternal. Help me Abba, to put on the new person who is renewed in the knowledge according to Your image. Thank You for renewing my mind. I will show forth that renewal through mercy, kindness, humility, meekness and longsuffering, as I bear with and forgive others in the same way Moshiach has forgiven me. Thank You Abba.
