This is a common verse given to counter when someone says they are pursuing the Law (the Torah, God's Commands, the OT commands, etc...). However, is the common understanding of this verse correct? I've mentioned in other comics that Scripture shows Paul was very smart and understood Torah better than most. Someone at that level of understanding, cannot be easily understood by people unfamiliar with his foundation. Most Christians do not have the same foundation. We are taught from very early in our walk that the Law is not for us. So when we read it, we don't take the time to understand or absorb it.

However, as I point out in this comic, if we look back at what Paul is referencing and other places in Scripture where those same concepts and what they are applied to: we see that Paul cannot be saying we do not do the Law. If he is, he is contradicting Scripture. And, as I point out at the end of the comic, he is contradicting himself.

This is the dilemma: Who is wrong? Paul, by his contradictions? Or us, by our long-standing interpretation of what Paul is saying? I've seen many go down the Paul is wrong path, and end up losing their faith all together. Maybe it is time we start questioning our own interpretations and let the Bible interpret itself.

Soil from Stone: Two Parallelisms within a Chiasm in Matthew 12:9-14

This chiasm in Matthew 12:9-14 is centered on the moral hierarchy implied by the fact that the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sa...

In the blessings of Deuteronomy 33, the tribe of Simeon is omitted. Of course, Jacob's son Simeon was an impetuous and violent man, but could this lack of blessing also have something to do with Judas, "the son of Simon"? See John 13:26.

Psalm 86;11, “Teach me Your way יהוה (LORD) I will walk in Your truth, unite my heart to fear Your name.” David writes in Psalm 119;142, “Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law (Torah) is the truth.”

Thought for Today: Wednesday October 12:

If you seek YHVH’s Face, you will not only find His Presence but also His Peace! To receive His Peace, you must change your grasping, controlling stance to one of openness and trust. The only thing you can grasp without damaging your soul, is Elohiym’s Hand. Asks His Spirit within you to order your day and control your thoughts for the mind controlled by the Spirit is Life and Peace. You can have as much of Him and His Peace as you want, through thousands of correct choices each day. The most persistent choice you face, is whether to trust in Him or to worry. You will never run out of things to worry about, but you can choose to trust Him no matter what. He is an ever-present help in trouble. Trust in Him, even when the earth gives away and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.
