Thought for Today: Tuesday April 26: Day 10 of the Omer:
Alexander Nowell once said: [YHVH does not comfort us that we may be comforted but that we may be comforters.] We should pass along the comfort with which YHVH has comforted us. Look around you. There are countless opportunities to comfort others, not only in the loss of a loved one but also in the daily distress that so often creeps into our lives. One of Paul’s companions on some of his missionary journeys was named Joseph, but [the apostles called him Barnaba which means son of encouragement] – Acts 4:36. Will you be a Barnabas today?

I am tentatively back on Twitter. Until Elon Musk submits to #yeshua, his ultimate aims are not compatible with God's. He does, however, seem to desire more freedom for humanity than not at the moment. I can work with that.

In Genesis 27, Rebekah told Jacob to prepare two goats for a stew for his father, Isaac, but two goats are far too much for one man. Rebekah was prophesying of her sons' futures and of Yom Kippur.

The Counting of the Omer is intended to remind us of the link between Passover (which commemorates the exodus and the resurrection) and Shavuot (which commemorates the formal giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai and the giving of the Holy Spirit).
What creative ways do you and your family count the oner?
This Torah portion, #leviticus 16-18, is called Acharei Mot in Hebrew, "After the Death" in English. I don't think anyone can read that without wondering to themselves what happens "after the death". I do my best to answer that question in this article...

When Jeff Apthorp began to examine what the scripture says about the importance of God’s Torah, one theme kept coming to his attention: the pervasive promise of our Redeeming God to regather the dispersed remnant of Israel and all those joined to them. That theme inspired Jeff to create I Will Gather You Radio as a ministry of Founded in Truth Fellowship. He shares that inspiration with us in this second of our three-part visit with him.
The promise to regather all Israel is part of the covenant God initiated with Abraham, and renewed with subsequent generations of Hebrews. This is much more than a contract specifying the obligations and rewards for each party, as Barry Phillips and David Jones explain in their midrash called, “Contract or Covenant?” Entering into this covenant is a life-transforming journey, as we hear in the music of Jimmie Black and BIll Green .
