Why was Isaac so adamant about sending Esau for wild game, the "delicious food that he loved"? Because it's about more than food. What wild game does Esau bring back to Jacob? See Jeremiah 16:16 for the answer.
God will send fishers and hunters to bring Israel back to the Land. Esau is the hunter. Israel is the game. Unlike Isaac, God isn't old and blind. He sees Israel wherever they go, whatever they do. He loves them and WILL bring them back! See Jeremiah 16:17.
