Yesterday, I woke up to my husband yelling from the basement. Our water tank was spewing water at the rate of Niagra Falls. We turned off the power to the pump. We already knew something was going awry but we didn't know what part of the system was to blame. Now we know!
We've had a lot of things go wrong lately, and I told my husband I was starting to feel like Job. He was quick to reply - No, not even close. He's right. Sometimes when we feel overwhelmed, we need a bit of a perspective shift. Job lost everything, including his children! His own wife turned on him! I'm dealing with no water until we can pick up a new tank in town. We are working through some of the other things that have been thrown at us. Yah is good. We just sometimes need to get our head on straight to see that truth clearly.
Just an observation, When Walt Disney began with a simple cartoon featuring a mouse that had human characteristics, he was considered an artist with a vision. Over the years, Disney produced some really entertaining movies and cartoons. unfortunately, many children were heavily influenced through these fictional stories and began to view the world as if fiction was reality. Aesop's Fables used animals with human traits to teach morality, Disney was for the most part simple entertainment. Had Disney actually included Biblical morals into their productions the world may be very different today. But, it is not Disney's job to provide young people with the example of Biblical morality, that is the job of every believer who interacts with young people. It's not the responsibility of young people to be careful what they see and hear, it is the adult's responsibility to be the best example for Biblical morality we can be.
John writes a radical statement that most modern Christian churches choose to ignore. 1 John 3;4, (ICB) “When a person sins, he breaks God’s law. Yes, sinning is the same as living against God’s law.” The law John refers to is the Instructions we were given from our Creator and John writes this after the ascension. While many are trained to believe these instructions were done away with, they will remain enforceable by our Creator until the new heaven and new earth are made for those who are faithful to Him. This confusion may be blamed on the writing of Paul, but Paul also quotes those instructions often. The evolution of language combined with poor translation are the real culprits that have led to this improper doctrine.

Thought for Today: Sunday April 24: Day 8 of the Omer:
YHVH is your Strength and your Shield. He plans out each day and have it ready for you, long before you arise from the bed. He also provides the strength you need each step of the way. Instead of assessing your energy level and wondering about what’s on the road ahead, concentrate in staying in touch with YHVH. His Power flows freely into you through your open communication with Him. Refuse to waste energy worrying and you will have strength to spare. Whenever you start to feel afraid, remember that YHVH is your Shield. But unlike inanimate armour, He is always alert and active. His Presence watches over you continually, protecting you from both known and unknown dangers. Entrust yourself to His watch-care, which is the best security system available. He is always with you and will always watch over you wherever you go.
