So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous.
Romans 11:11 ESV
As Isaiah 29 clearly shows, the blindness of the Jews was always intended to be temporary. God did not blind Israel so as to destroy them as a people, but so that a rebellious generation could be driven to repentance. Part of that plan (pre-destination) is to bring the truth and blessing of Messiah Yeshua to the Gentiles, so that the native-born Israelites will want to take back what was always supposed to be theirs.
This website is very useful for watching the moon phases. https://www.moongiant.com/calendar/october/2024/
There is only supposed to be a very slight sliver for the moon today. There is more of a possibility that it will be sighted tomorrow on the 4th which would make October 5th the first day of the 7th month or Rosh Chodesh. Which would also be Yom Yeruah. This is the site that I use to confirm the moon sightings. https://www.renewedmoon.com
And David says, “Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them; let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and bend their backs forever.”
Romans 11:9-10 ESV
Quoting from Psalm 69:22-23. The point is that they set their own table. God didn’t blind them because he arbitrarily chose some for salvation and some for damnation, but because those who are damned fully merited it through their own rebellion.
Two faced.

Leviticus 23 says that Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets) is supposed to be a memorial, but it doesn't say what we're supposed to remember. I have a few thoughts on that...

As it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day.”
Romans 11:8 ESV
Paul paraphrases Isaiah 29:10 and Deuteronomy 29:4. Read the full context of Isaiah 29. The specific eyes and ears spoken of in that passage are those of the prophets and seers, not of the people themselves.
The same was true in the time of Yeshua and Paul. The teachers and spiritual leaders of the people were determined to follow their own way and force the Messiah to fit their mold, and so when he came, they didn’t recognize him. God reinforced their stupor to ensure that Yeshua would be rejected and crucified.
