As it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day.”
Romans 11:8 ESV
Paul paraphrases Isaiah 29:10 and Deuteronomy 29:4. Read the full context of Isaiah 29. The specific eyes and ears spoken of in that passage are those of the prophets and seers, not of the people themselves.
The same was true in the time of Yeshua and Paul. The teachers and spiritual leaders of the people were determined to follow their own way and force the Messiah to fit their mold, and so when he came, they didn’t recognize him. God reinforced their stupor to ensure that Yeshua would be rejected and crucified.
Today is the Day of Trumpets. This is a holy day from the bible that prophesies the return of Yeshua, Jesus, the Messiah. This knowledge was commonplace in the first century and has been lost to Christianity. I'll be explaining this at 1pm central on YT.

Deuteronomy 16:13 — 14, “You are to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days after you have gathered the produce of your threshing floor and your winepress. And you shall rejoice in your feast—you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the Levite, as well as the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widows among you.” This describes everyone who chooses the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as their God.
🎺 Happy Yom Teruah (Day of Trumpets)
This holiday is commanded in Leviticus 23:23-25 and seems to look forward in anticipation to the coming of the Day of the LORD.
I'm reading from the Budoff Machzor this year and it is supremely beautiful. I'm really looking forward to tomorrows readings!
