Crimbly, crumbly, shambles in the ranks: look around you.

To your right there is a brief field of charred granules, punctuated by a tottering tower partly constructed of vintage sheet metal; a curious smell of wilted olive flower vents from the chinks of this derelict cylinder.
Behind you is a stone wall, of square stones a span across, not built for structural integrity; detailed depictions of impressionistic juxtapositions spangle the wall, framed in the cracks between the stones.
On your left there is a twisting, winding well, the path of a worm in an apple of crust. How many wells it is, who can tell.

Using a sharp, thin sliver of rock which you unbury from the charred bits, you pry the old lining from an edge on the rickety tower (part of it falls with a silty crash). There you find notes etched in the rust, which teach you the pattern of touching the stones in the wall. When you follow this pattern, a sallow light flickers in the depths of the well(s), giving coordinates in Morse code.

The word of Elohim is the will of Elohim.

Hi All
When do you celebrate the New Moon, and thus Rosh Hashana?

Just wondering why the Sabbath of Rosh Hashana is celebrated the day before the new moon? If the New Moon is on September 16th at 7 PM Israel time, should not this mark the beginning of the Sabbath, as days start at night in scripture? (Gen 1:5, 8, 13, etc)

If the New Moon is only after the day then the sighting of it would not tell us when it starts but that it is over.

Also, do they blow the silver trumpets in Israel, as commanded in Numbers 10:10?

I have tried several calendars, and the current one is the most accurate. We will be observing Rosh Trumpets begining sunset on the 15th of september because the conjunction is an hour after sunset the previous night here in Iowa. In other words, the month begins at the first sunset after the conjunction. We dont believe time is supposed to be kept by Jerusalem time because during the Exodus & the exile, Jerusalem time was not available promptly, even though it is, because of the Internet, available today. The sliver does indicate when the new moon is over. This is why it can not be used. The Passover, according to Psalm 81, happens ON the full moon. If you use the sliver, it comes after the full moon by a couple days. Also, Tabernacles begins ON the full moon. To answer your other question, I believe the silver trumpets are lost to history since the Romans destroyed the second temple and looted it. I hope this helps! Shalom.

When will the feast be?

Welcome to one of my top 3 most divisive subjects in the Torah community. ?

Luckily, here on TTN, we all agree to learn so no fighting has ever taken place about this subject even if it is so divisive.

Everyone will have their own view on this, so hear everyone out and ask Father for what you should follow. One day, Yeshua will show us what we should have done and I might stand ashamed for my understanding.

BUT, here is my view and GidgetsMom and I have spoken about this one or twice before, so we do differ.

If our inheritance is in the land of Israel, then it means that Father always wanted us to remain there. It is our punishment due to our forefathers that we are now in the diaspora. I therefore take the stance that when I don't understand a timing then I look at Israel.

I was born in South Africa, which is in the southern hemisphere. When I came to the understanding of Torah in 2016, I couldn't understand how the locals would look at the local moon, but at Israel's barley for Passover. That was counter intuitive for me. But if they looked at their local barley then they would be 6 months out as the seasons are counter to the northern hemisphere.

Now that we are in the UK, the difference is only by a day or so, but there is still a difference in timings. It is like comparing a "small" sin with a "large" sin. Sin remains sin, so whether I miss the target by 1 inch or 1 mile, I am still missing the target...

I then also follow Scripture only, so if I can't find 2 verses to confirm something then I don't follow it.

So, I will be virtually joining the team in Jerusalem on the 16th (https://social.ttn.place/events/96/) to see whether they can spot the new moon. If they can’t see the new moon due to clouds, etc. and no one else reports the new moon that evening then the feast starts automatically on Sunday evening at sunset.

As for the trumpets, currently all sorts of instruments are used in the blowing. I see it as a representation only as the hammered silver trumpets aren’t available, yet.
