Who is prominent in the stories of Yeshua's ministry? The poor, sick, incapacitated, humble, and reviled.

Who is prominent in the stories of Yeshua's rebukes? The rich, prideful, leaders, educated, and respected.

Martyrdom should never be a goal in itself. That doesn't honor God in any way. Rather, our goal must be a state of love and spirit in which martyrdom is just another service we may offer our God.

I am reading through Luke again and time and again Yeshua has a proverbial seesaw in His messages:

comfort on earth vs. riches in the kingdom to come.

It is one or the other, but not both...

Another problem solved about the calendar that following the full moon rising in virgo to figure out abib 1 (the previous conjunction evening being abib 1) is that the southern hemisphere would also be on the same calendar. If you go by the growing season, the southern hemisphere would be opposite. This is another reason literal barley being abib does not determine the calendar. Other reasons I have mentioned are: they had no barley planted in the wilderness, Egypts barley was probably not ready at the same time as Israels, barley rippens at different times across Israel, also, barley rippens earlier or later, depending on when you plant it (you can plant ot in the 7th month and it will be ready in the 11th, or you can plant it in the 9th month and it will be ready in the 1st month).

The problem is that the constellations progress over time in relation to spring. (Lookup "precession" if this is unfamiliar to you.) Which constellation the moon is in now, would not be the same 2160 years ago. Even worse, if we go back some portion of that, the moon will not be consistently in any constellation when it is time to start a new year.

I haven't seen your previous posts, but do you accept that we need the first Abib barley to wave for the firstfruits offering during Unleavened Bread?

@joshua williams I would say the nation as a whole had to present one single sheaf, usually during unleavened bread. I cant say for certain if it ever started before, but SkySafari shows Spica rising with the full moon in 30 ce. This is the year and night I believe the last supper took place. It could have happened in 33 ce, but Spica roseat a different time than the full moon, so I don't think it was a sign of what was about to happen to Yeshua, unlike 30 ce. Also, if Yeshua was born during quirinius' census in 3 bce, 30 ce is the perfect timing for starting His ministry at age 30, and going 3 1/2 years with it. 33 ce is too late.
I wasn't sure if the barley sheaf was suspended until they entered the land, but they certainly didnt have barley to judge abib and they did keep Passover and unleavened bread in the wilderness. If they needed manna and quail to eat in the wilderness, there certainly wasnt sufficient food to gather, like berries or grasses, which barley is. Ive alway wondered how the livestock survived in numbers great enough for sustinence and sacrifice for a million people.
I have heard the priests kept a field of barley for presenting the wave sheaf, being from the best of the best seed.

Rhy Bezuidenhout so you don't believe Israel was to be an example to all the nations?

The beatitudes are a summary of #torah: Love God, love one another, move your focus outward from yourself. #yeshua described 3 kinds of behaviors in the Beatitudes: Inherent, Outward, Inward. The first three beatitudes are inherent conditions within you. The second three are outward behaviors. The last two are things done to you, inward.

What are the opposites of the beatitudes? Pride, egoism, greed, unforgiveness.

The literary structure of Matthew 5 disproves the doctrine that the Law was annulled at any time by #yeshua. So long as there is a need for peacekeepers, for mercy, for endurance of persecution, there is a need for the Law. Only when the need for those qualities has vanished--when wickedness, covetousness, and hatred have been abolished--will the #torah, also known as the Law of Moses, no longer be necessary to teach and convict mankind.

My musings for the day.
last night, our study group approached the subject of eating pork, and kindly threw in the Acts 10 chestnut.
For those who argue that all types of food are now allowed, I suggest one consider the interpretation given to Paul by the Holy Spirit in v27.

Acts 15 then goes on to declare through the Jerusalem council what Gentiles should avoid. This decision, it is said, was given by the Holy Spirit as the Council discerned the right course.
What transpires created a pathway for Gentiles and Jews to associate.
However, it would seem that most of the Christian Church and many within the Messianic community still do not obey the ruling of the Council. If we believe that the decision of the JC was Holy Spirit ordained, then it is clear that disobedience is at play.

On another note, We can also agree that if the Sabbath day, which is unchanging is not observed, then disobedience and the breaking of the command is at work.

This is then very serious, and we can only be grateful for YHVH's abounding grace. ( I suggest that what we are seeing amongst the ecclesia and what is about to come upon the body in this present hour, is a result of the non-observance of the Sabbath). God brings judgment because His people refuse to observe His commands. Simple! we therefore need to repent, lean upon His mercy and carry on.

We can argue, as some do that Christ has set us free from the bondage found within the law and observances, but I think a realistic lesson for us would be this. Would we see Yeshua breaking the Sabbath rule or the rule of eating unclean animals?

The scriptures In Act 10 tell us clearly that we are not to call what God has made clean, or unclean. It does not say that God has made the unclean, clean. The vision of food and its reference were clearly symbolic of proving a point to Peter.

Also, in a nutshell, arguing over the rules over observances, and even sacred name translations, will not secure a person's salvation. This is a personal endeavour. There is no point in being concerned with a matter if we are not living an obedient and holy life.

Observing the Torah, as I have said, is different from living in Torah, which is Christ.

That's all for now.

That must have been an interesting discussion. ☺

I am sure at the first bite that Yeshua would take from a pig, He would have been stoned. That is why the Pharisees were constantly wanting to falsely assuse Him; even when He healed people on the Shabbat. If He was to break any of the Torah or teach others to do so then it would have been very easy to have Him stoned and out of the way.

The vision to Peter never says that he ran back home telling everyone that all unclean things can now be eaten. He never mentions food when he tells the story to others. He talks about Jews and gentiles from his vision and that all people are created equally.

Teach your children that when they believe in YHVH Elohiym, their names are written in the palm of His hand. (Prayer: Thank You Father, that You are always by the side of me and my children. You are our best Friend and through each of our vale of tears, You will lead us to joy, amein.)
