“When YHWH your Elohim enlarges your border as He has promised you, and you say, ‘Let me eat meat,’ because you long to eat meat, you eat as much meat as your soul desires. When the place where YHWH your Elohim chooses to put His Name is too far from you, then you shall slaughter from your herd and from your flock which YHWH has given you, as I have commanded you, and you shall eat within your gates as much as your soul desires.”
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim)...

As with the previous verses, the original context of “the word” is Torah, but Yeshua is the living Torah. His life shows us how to live out God’s instructions. Faithfully living out Torah might be the hardest thing you will ever do, but also among the simplest. It is difficult because our flesh wars against it, but it's not complicated.
The word is literally to be in our mouths as we read Torah continually in our homes, courts, and fellowships, and as we meditate on it and put it into practice, the Spirit works to transform us into the likeness of Yeshua.

Did Jephthah sacrifice his daughter or just dedicate her to service at the Temple? No one knows. That's not the point of the story.
Don't make frivolous vows. If you vow something to God, it's His, whether you thought it through beforehand or not. Treat your words like a gun. Aim carefully. Know what's beyond your target. Don't point it at anyone unless you're willing to kill.
