Rebellion against God involves a *refusal* to obey Him, not a simple *failure* to obey. He knows we're not perfect, and he promises to forgive our sins, to make them white as snow, if we are willing to obey Him. Not because we already obey, but because we are willing to commit. However, if we are unwilling to obey, our sins will remain on us and we will be judged by them.
