1 Samuel 8:13, “And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.” As Samuel tells the people how a king would rule over them, we see this verse. There is no single word translation to explain what the word confectionary would mean. These are the people who know how to use plants and turn them into balms, salves, tinctures etc… so they can be used as medicines. While many people knew which plants would help certain ailments, other plants needed to be prepared in a certain way to increase their effectiveness and by working for the king, the people would be indebted to him for their medicine.

The patriarchs…their race… These are unambiguous references to physical descent. The bloodline matters whether we like it or not, whether it fits our theology or not. Yeshua is a Jew by genetic and cultural heritage. There is no other way that he could be heir of David and King of the Jews.

I have a question about Sukkot. Are we obligated to take all 8 days of Sukkot off work and go somewhere to observe it?

I know that the 1st and 8h days are Holy convocations. But is there a requirement to take all 8 days of Sukkot off work?
