Genesis 12:15, “When Pharaoh’s officials saw Sarai, they commended her to him, and she was taken into the palace of Pharaoh.” The Word Hallelujah, is translated as praise the LORD and in that conjugated form it is mostly correct. The basic root of the word means to shine and in this verse it was translated as commend. This is the reason context is important when reading in the original language, there are several different Hebrew words used that translate as praise and knowing the original word and the context is critical to understanding how and why certain words are used.
