When does Isaiah 2 speak of?

9 w
Question

Isaiah 2 just caught my attention as it speaks of the "last days" or the "messianic age", a time of universal peace and Father's ultimate reign over all nations.

Verses 2-3 reads:

"It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established as the highest of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow to it.

And many people shall come and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law and instruction, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."

But, how does this fit in with the New Covenant if the nations again has to go up to the Mountain to be taught? Isn't the law already written on everyone's heart?

I can understand going there for judgement to be made between people, but being taught again about the law? 🤔

Or does this talk of a different period in time?

How do you understand this chapter in relation to the New Covenant?

isa 2 IS talking about the New Covenant.

speaking poetically, in the landscape of our hearts the mountains we ascend to worship what the houses on top contain for us are reflections of what we idolize.

and now, in those last days, the real mountain gets established in the landscape of our hearts,
and from this 'new' house on this 'new' mountain will go forth the Law and instruction, and the Word.

and all that we built up in our hearts before, which we relied on (for our salvation), will be tossed down, shown for what it is.
as the last verse (22) says

- Put no more trust in man,
who has only the breath in his nostrils.
Of what account is he? -

that generic 'man' is me. how can i place trust in what's built up in the heart of the no-account person i am who has nothing, only the breathe in my nostrils?
and even that is not mine.

if i may, do understand that what we hold dear in our hearts (and think is in line with what is in the House of YHWH) is exactly the content of those houses with towers and fortified walls on those multiple mountains in the current landscape of our hearts.
thinking that what you've built up is in line with what is in the House of YHWH is interfering with your receiving it.
you're now thinking you have more than just the breathe in your nostrils. (which is actually not even yours)

I would see that the new covenant with Torah being written on our hearts is not an instant transformation, but a process. As such I believe this prophecy to be referring to a major part of this process.
Also I agree that if the Torah was written fully on our hearts already, we would have no need for most of the conversations here. On the other hand, if YAH hadn't started that process in our hearts through Yeshua, we wouldn't be here.

Thought for Today: Friday June 27

Sometimes, we do not know why YHVH allow bad things to happen to us. Even then however, YHVH can use them to teach us and make us into better people. Disappointments and tragedies for example, can teach us to turn in trust to Him for the hope and comfort we need. These experiences can also teach us patience, and make us more sensitive to other who are suffering. Are you going through a difficult time today? Ask YHVH to use it to increase your faith and make you more like our Moshiach.

What traditions exist that once had good reason, no longer have that cause, yet remain all the same? Are they helpful, harmful heathen? And how should we treat them?

I never even noticed the tradition and just thought it to be a coincidence. 🤯

The animals in Isaiah 11:6-8 represent different kinds of people.

-Wolves are predatory pretenders.
-Lambs are harmless innocents.
-Leopards are sly opportunists.
-Kids are hapless adventurers.
-Young lions are confrontational and violent.
-Fatlings are slow and vulnerable.
-Cattle are a symbol and source of wealth.
-Bears are angry, unpredictable destroyers.
-Oxen are honest and powerful.
-Asps are crafty, shy killers.
-Adders are quick tempered and defensive, unfaithful friends.

We honor the memory of those touched by the Shoa (Holocaust) because it is the right thing to do - for the Jews who perished, for the Jews who survived, for the Christians and others who helped them, and for our children who need to know what happened so they can build a future in which such things remain a memory.

This is a cool project. I just got through writing about some Holocaust things on my personal blog today. I don't want to put it here to detract from your article, though.

Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.
Isaiah 11:5

#yeshua was righteous inside and out, totally blameless--it wasn't just a garment he put on in public and tossed aside in private--but the Jewish leadership of the first century didn't know what righteousness looked like and they rejected him like the patriarchs did Joseph. Later Christians dressed him up in foreign, pagan trappings--also just like Joseph--and most of his Jewish brothers can't see his Jewish identity anymore.
