How do we maintain a continuous attitude of prayer? Before asking that question, we might want to start with asking what exactly prayer is. That's the nature of this discussion between Elder Barry Phillips and Strategic Prayer Director Ron Runyon.

Yeshua said that nobody knows the precise day and hour of his return, and I believe this also means we can't know the year or even the decade very far in advance. As the time gets very close, we might be able to tell that by observing the events in the world around us, but I think that's as precise as we can get. However, the real point of Yeshua's warning to be ready for his return is to be ready "in season and out". Make disciples of other men today and be a better disciple yourself every day.

Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
Matthew 24:34
"This generation" refers to the generation that witnesses the tribulation and signs described in v29, not necessarily to the generation that was alive at the time Yeshua spoke these words nor to the generation alive at the time the state of Israel was re-established.
Every statement in every language must be interpreted by the hearer/reader in order to be understood. Our brains usually do this automatically within the context of our own knowledge, culture, and experience. The greater the difference in personal context between the speaker and hearer, the more complicated and deliberate the process becomes.
The more the hearer understands about the speaker's context, and the more the hearer can divorce his own interpretation from his own context, the more likely the hearer is to arrive at an accurate understanding of the speaker's intent.
If the communication is mediated by a third party, such as a translator or journalist, the complexity increases by an order of magnitude, because now the hearer must also account for the personal context and motivations of the mediator.
This is true of every communication in every conceivable medium.
In Matthew 24:15-22, Yeshua said that, when we see the Abomination of Desolation prophesied in Daniel 11:31, those in Judea should immediately flee to the mountains, that the greatest tribulation mankind has ever seen is about to begin. There are four general ways to interpret all Biblical prophecy, but IMO only one of them fits what Yeshua said in this chapter.

We are living in dark times. Churches are teaching anti-Christ doctrines, false prophets are multiplying, lawlessness is everywhere, and nobody seems to know what the Gospel is. Our job is to keep preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom (which might not be what you think!) and to persevere in faithful obedience until the end.
