Matthew 16:2 — 3, “But He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘The weather will be fair, for the sky is red,’ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but not the signs of the times.” Red sky at night, sailors delight, red sky in morning, sailors take warning. Yes this familiar saying does come directly from the Bible.

Thought for Today: Wednesday May 07

By serving each other, we put love into action. Our Moshiach modelled this when He washed the feet of His disciples. Be patient with one another. This is possible because of Ruach HaKodesh’s Presence in us. Be courteous to one another. Even if someone is difficult or disagreeable, treat them with gentleness and love. Set an example for one another, in speech, in life, in love in faith and in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

Christian Horse

4 w

A pastor walked by a ranch when he noticed a sign, "Christian Horse for Sale"
Being that the Pastor owned a large ranch, he was immediately interested, and went into the shop.

The owner took the Pastor out to the back, where he saw a beautiful Arabian stallion.

He agreed to allow the Pastor to take a "test run."

The Pastor grabbed the reins. "giddyap." The horse ignored him. "no, no," counseled the owner.

This is a Christian horse. If you want him to move, you must say, "Praise the Lord!"

The Pastor did as he was told, and the horse started off on a leisurely walk. However, he soon found

that the horse would not stop. "He won't answer to 'Whoa', said the owner. It's "Amen."

The Pastor decided that he liked the horse, so he bought him and took him home to his ranch in the country.

He saddled the horse up again, said, "Praise the Lord," and went riding into the countryside.

Suddenly, the horse saw a rattlesnake crossing the path. Frightened, he reared and bolted straight for a cliff.

The Pastor cried "whoa!" but the horse only ran faster. In vain, he tried one word after another.

Finally, he remembered the correct command and screamed "AMEN!!!!!" just as the horse approached the edge of the cliff.

The Pastor was so thrilled that his life had been saved that he raised his handsto the sky and shouted, "PRAISE THE LORD!"

It's all in how the hearer interprets what they hear. 😊

READINGS FOR OMER COUNT – DAY 18

Behold, I am about to fulfill the affirmative precept of the counting of the Omer, as it is written in the Torah:

“And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Shabbath, from the day that ye brought the Omer of the wave-offering, seven complete weeks they shall be; until the morrow of the seventh Shabbath shall ye number fifty days.”

Blessed art Thou YHWH, our Elohym, King of the universe, who hast set us apart by Thy commandments and hast given us command concerning the counting of the Omer.

This is the eighteenth day, making two weeks and four days of the Omer.

May the All Merciful restore the service of the Temple to its place. May it be Thy will, YHWH our Elohym and Elohym of our fathers, that the Temple be speedily rebuilt in our days, and grant our portion in Thy Torah. And there we will serve Thee with awe, as in the days of old and as in ancient years.

May Elohym be favorable unto us and bless us. That Thy way may be known upon the earth, Thy salvation among all nations. Let the peoples give thanks unto Thee, Elohym; let all the peoples give thanks unto Thee. Let the nations rejoice and exult: for Thou wilt judge the peoples with equity and lead the nations upon the earth. Let the peoples give thanks unto Thee, Elohym; let all the peoples give thanks unto Thee. The earth hath yielded her increase: Elohym, even our Elohym, shall bless us. Elohym shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

READINGS: TEHILLAH 47

Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to Elohim with a voice of singing!

For YHWH Most High is awesome; A great King over all the earth.

He subdues peoples under us, And nations under our feet.

He chooses our inheritance for us, The excellence of Ya‛aqoḇ whom He loves. Selah.

Elohim shall go up with a shout, YHWH with a voice of a shophar.

Sing praises to Elohim, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!

For Elohim is King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.

Elohim shall kingdom over the nations; Elohim shall sit on His set-apart throne.

Nobles of peoples shall be gathered together, The people of the Elohim of Aḇraham. For the shields of the earth belong to Elohim; He shall be greatly exalted.

READINGS: TEHILLAH 48

Great is YHWH, and greatly to be praised In the city of our Elohim, His set-apart mountain.

Beautiful on high, The joy of all the earth, Is Mount Tsiyon on the sides of the north, The city of the great King.

Elohim is in her citadels; He is known as her refuge.

For look, the kings met, They passed by together.

They saw, so they marvelled; They were alarmed, they hastened away.

Trembling took hold of them there, Pain, as of a woman in labor, With an east wind You break the ships of Tarshish.

As we have heard, so we have seen In the city of YHWH of hosts, In the city of our Elohim, Elohim establishes her forever. Selah.

We have thought, O Elohim, of Your mercy, In the midst of Your Hěḵal.

According to Your Name, O Elohim, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is filled with righteousness.

Let Mount Tsiyon rejoice, Let the daughters of Yehuḏah exult, Because of Your judgments.

Walk about Tsiyon, And go all around her. Count her towers; Set your heart upon her rampart; Go through her citadels; So that you report it to the coming generation.

For this Elohim is our Elohim, Forever and ever; He Himself leads us, Even to death.

READINGS: MISHLE 13:13-25

He who despises the Word is destroyed, But he who fears the command is rewarded.

The Torah of the wise is a fountain of life, Turning one away from the snares of death.

Excellent understanding gains favor, But the way of the treacherous is hard.

Every one with insight acts with knowledge, But a fool spreads folly.

A messenger that is wrong falls into evil, But a trustworthy envoy is a healing.

Poverty and shame are for him Who ignores discipline, But he who heeds reproof is esteemed.

A desire accomplished is sweet to the being, But to turn away from evil is an abomination to fools.

He who walks with the wise, shall be wise, But the companion of fools suffers evil.

Evil pursues sinners, But excellence is repaid to the righteous.

A excellent man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.

Much food is in the tillable ground of the poor, But lack of judgment sweeps it away.

He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him, seeks him with discipline.

The righteous eats to the satisfying of his being, But the stomach of the wrong is lacking.

READINGS: AVOTH 3:3-5

Rabbi Chanan’ya ben T’radyon said, if two sit together and interchange no words of Torah, they are a meeting of scoffers, concerning whom it is said, the righteous man sitteth not in the seat of the scoffers; but if two sit together and interchange words of Torah, the Shekinah abides between them; as it is said, then they that feared YHWH spake one with the other, and YHWH hearkened and heard, and a book of remembrance was written before Him, for them that feared YHWH, and that thought upon His Name. Now, the Scripture enables me to draw this inference in respect to two persons; whence can it be deduced that if even one person sedulously occupies himself with the Torah, Haqadosh, blessed be He, appoints unto him a reward? Because it is said, though he sit alone, and meditate in stillness, yet he taketh it (the reward) upon him.

Rabbi Shim’on said, if three have eaten at a table and have spoken there no words of Torah, it is as if they had eaten of sacrifices to dead idols, of whom it is said, for all their tables are full of vomit and filthiness; the Temple is not (in their thoughts). But if three have eaten at a table and have spoken there words of Torah, it is as if they had eaten at the table of the Temple; to which the Scripture may be applied, and he said unto me, this is the table that is before YHWH.

Rabbi Chanina ben Chakinay said, he who keeps awake at night, and goes on his way alone, and turns his heart to idle thoughts, such a one sins against himself.
